The Food Networks's "Restaurant Impossible" Shooting Now in Murphys |

Murphys, CA...It seems that television crews are now a regular occurrence in our humble little county. If this keeps up we will all be D-Listers. The Food Network Show "Restaurant Impossible" and their lucky subject "Hillbillies" is undergoing a "Restaurant Impossible" transformation. The premise of the show is to take Two Days and $10,000 to perform a restaurant makeover. When we stopped by today the area was a beehive of action. People were necessarily circumspect when spoken to as all of them were under the rules of the NDAs they all signed. Once the shoot is over and "Hillbillies" reopens in its updated glory we will have another great place to "Do Lunch" My people will call your people and set something up...

Smokin' Angels Grand Opening Nov 8th |

Angels Camp, CA..A grand opening ceremony scheduled for Friday, November 8, will launch Angels Camp’s newest retail operation. Smokin’ Angels, located at 422 N. Main Street, will as the name implies carry a complete line of smoking products and accessories, including over 50 lines of electronic cigarettes and a full range of cigars, as well as body jewelry, clothing and electronic accessories. Smokin’ Angels’ owner, Megan Davidson, is not new to the business. She and her father James Davidson have had a wholesale warehouse in Modesto for ten years that distributes tobacco products and accessories and serves over 300 business owners in the Central Valley, Bay Area and Northern California. They also have a retail operation in Modesto that focuses on smoking products and accessories but has expanded into other merchandise...

On Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays in November and December, bring a bag of non-perishable food to the Murphys Library and exchange for a bag of our gently used books.
