John Stivers from Jamestown is Missing. Help Him Return Home

Jamestown, CA...From the Tuolumne Sheriff's Office..."Monday night, 52-year-old John Stivers of Jamestown was reported missing. John was last seen headed to Sonora. John has not been seen or heard from since. Deputies located John’s vehicle parked along side Campo Seco Road in Jamestown, but John was not with his vehicle.

Suspect Arrested for Generator Theft & Burglary in Arnold

Arnold, CA...On August 3rd 2021, at about 8:30 AM the Calaveras County Sheriff’s office received a report regarding a stolen generator from inside a residence on Circle Drive, Arnold. A deputy was dispatched to the residence and began an investigation. During the investigation the victim provided video evidence showing that suspect Craig James Smith, 52 years of age from Arnold, was responsible for the burglary and theft of the generator.

18 Year Old Pioneer Man Loses His Life in Fatal Collision on Shakeridge Road

Pioneer, CA...The driver of the Chevrolet was eastbound Shakeridge Road, west of Evergreen Way at a high rate of speed, while evading an Amador County Sheriff's Office (ACSO) vehicle, displaying lights and siren as required by the California Vehicle Code. The driver of the Chevrolet allowed the vehicle to leave the roadway along the south roadway edge and entered the soft dirt shoulder. Snyder was driving his Toyota westbound on Shakeridge Road, west of Evergreen Way, approaching the Chevrolet. Snyder observed the Chevrolet re-enter the roadway and proceed into the westbound lane, directly into the path of the Toyota. Snyder veered his Toyota to the left to avoid a head on collision. As the Chevrolet continued out of control, unknown debris flew from the Chevrolet and collided with the Toyota. The Chevrolet subsequently collided into a tree and immediately became engulfed in flames.

Murphys, CA...(Update...Editor's Note: We have closed off new comments." 8-1-21 0300hrs 911 was called in regards to a 39-year-old male unable to wake up. Medics arrived at 0318hrs. The Male was pronounced deceased at the scene by medics after life-saving efforts. The deputy on the scene did not notice any evidence of foul play. Detectives were notified and also examined the scene. They also did not locate any evidence of foul play.

Cottage Springs, CA...This after at approximately 1:30pm a Bear Valley woman was driving a 2003 Subaru Outback eastbound on Hwy 4 East of Beatrice Drive approaching a 2020 Subaru Forester being driven by a 65-year-old woman from Pinole California.

Tip Leads to Arrest of Mokelumne Hill Man for Mail Theft & Other Charges

Wallace, CA...On July 28th 2021, at about 10:45 AM, a Deputy contacted a citizen regarding suspicious behavior believed to be connected with criminal activity. The citizen stated that suspect Andrew Keith Brieno (40 years old from Mokelumne Hill) was allowed to stay in a shed on their property in the Wallace area for a short while. Andrew was asked to leave the property due to undisclosed reasons. While the citizen was removing items left behind, they located several items of mail and credit cards with varying names.

Arnold, CA...At approximately 0441 hours, Calaveras County Sheriffs deputies responded to an alarm call at the Sheriffs substation in Arnold, Upon their arrival, they found Christopher Bates, 34 from San Andreas in his vehicle, the vehicle on the sidewalk of the shopping center, backed up to the front door of the substati6n. Columbia Man Arrested and Sonora Woman in Additional Legal Trouble After Traffic Stop

Jamestown, CA...On Monday evening, Deputy Sorini was patrolling highway 108 in Jamestown. He observed a vehicle commit a moving violation. A check of the vehicle’s registration status showed it was suspended. Deputy Sorini conducted a traffic enforcement stop on the vehicle and contacted the driver, 37-year-old Sabrina Rivette of Sonora, and the passenger, 49-year-old Jerome Zylstra of Columbia. A record check of the Rivette determined she had misdemeanor warrants for her arrest. A consent search of the vehicle was conducted. Deputy Sorini located over 28 grams of methamphetamine separated into different quantities, cash, packaging material, drug paraphernalia, and brass knuckles.

Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Team Recap July 7th thru July 15th 2021

San Andreas, CA...On July 7th, 2021, the Calaveras Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Unit served a search warrant for illegal marijuana cultivation in the 6900 block of Riata Way in Angels Camp. Deputies seized 617 growing marijuana plants with an estimated value exceeding $802,000. The cultivation was being conducted under the residence and in a metal outbuilding. The metal outbuilding contained unsafe and unpermitted walls, electrical systems, and air ducts to facilitate the indoor cultivation. Extensive black mold was visible on surfaces. Code Enforcement Officers were called to the scene and the structure was “Red-Tagged” due to numerous hazards and violations which created an unsafe environment.
