Amber Alert Update...Two Found Deceased Near Vehicle in Tuolumne County

Sonora, CA...Tragic News from the Tuolumne Sheriff's Office..."We have an update on the Amber Alert out of Merced County that we shared on our social media platforms over the weekend. Last night, a vehicle associated with the Amber Alert was found in a remote area on Clark Fork Road near Sand Flat Campground in Tuolumne County. Two people were dead near the car. The identification of the people found is not known at this time.
Minor Sustains Major Injuries In Collision Near Hwy 49 & Hwy 120

Moccasin, CA...On September 22, 2019, at approximately 6:35 PM, Mr. Jose Figueroa, a 35 year old man from Bonita, CA was traveling in his 2018 Ford F-150 Raptor, northbound on State Route 49 and was stopped at the intersection with State Route 120 near Moccasin, CA. Ms. Glafira Montanez, a 35 year old woman from Groveland, CA, was traveling westbound on State Route 120, east of State Route 49, in her 2012 Scion XB at an unknown speed. Mr. Figueroa accelerated from the stop sign in an attempt to drive westbound on State Route 120, directly into the path of the Scion. The front of the Scion struck the right side of the Ford and the Scion became airborne, overturned, landing approximately 100 feet down the northern embankment of State Route 120, and collided into a ravine. The Ford came to rest along the right shoulder of westbound State Route 120. Airbags within both vehicles deployed.
Lake Alpine, CA...The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close State Route 4 beginning Tuesday, September 24, 2019, to Wednesday, September 25, 2019, from 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. each day for road work. The full closure will be in effect over Ebbetts Pass from the east end of Lake Alpine (gate #2) to Raymond Meadows Creek (closure gate #3- just east of the Silver Creek Campground). Lake Alpine is open and accessible. There is no local detour available.
Collision Left Murphys Man With Major Injuries & Unconscious Last Night Off Sheep Ranch Road

Murphys, CA...A 30 year old Murphys man was driving a Toyota on Sheep Ranch Road northbound at an unknown speed descending a grade at approximately 2330 hours. He allowed his vehicle to drive off the west road edge and down a steep embankment. As the Toyota was on the embankment it overturned causing the left front windshield area to be crushed by a tree. As it overturned the driver was ejected. Both the driver and the Toyota landed at the bottom of an approximately 100 foot ravine. The Toyota came to rest on its roof. The driver lost consciousness for an unknown time. He waited until the sun rose on 9-20-2019 to climb up the hillside to seek assistance. The vehicle was not visible from the roadway.
