Mountain Ranch, CA...When we spoke with CAL-FIRE's Lisa Williams a few minutes ago she wanted us to stress that when you have a debris pile burning you are supposed to have a 10 foot perimeter down to the dirt around the fire and are supposed to man the fire at all times as well. The Mountain Ranch Blaze was about two acres in size and had two state and two local engines and helicopter 404 even made an appearance...

San Andreas – On Thursday, May 1, 2008 burn permits will be required within Tuolumne and Calaveras counties. Conditions are volatile in Tuolumne and Calaveras counties and both counties have experienced high, gusty winds on a regular basis this year, more than in previous years. The combination of low fuel moistures and high winds generally leads to an increased number of debris burn escapes. These escaped debris burns threaten lives, property and forest resources. Currently, live fuel moistures are approximately 30% lower than this time last year with 15% less rainfall then our 5 year average for this time of....

TRAFFIC NEWS....DUI Leads to Arrest in Mokelumne Hill This Evening |

CHP Reporting a Possible Misdemeanor, DUI, which caused a traffic collision at Hwy 49 just north of Golden Hills Subdivision in Mokelumne Hill at approximately 7:30pm this evening. Apparently the driver's vehicle rolled over and may have caused damage to multiple vehicles. The driver has been taken into custody for DUI. Will keep you posted as needed.

Injury Accident in San Andreas on Saturday Afternoon (Updated with CHP Release) |

San Andreas, CA...There is currently an injury accident in San Andreas near Treats. There is a report of debris all over roadway. Use caution in the area. There have apparently been several parked cars hit as well. Initial reports are vehicles damaged from the Red Brick Saloon to the Napa Building. Avoid Hwy 49 in the area if at all possible. Mountain Ranch, CA.....The Gas Station located at 8032 Mountain Ranch Road in Mountain Ranch was apparently robbed on Thursday evening during closed business hours. There were no personnel present when the robbery occurred. There is $300.00 CASH REWARD Being Offered by Mountain Ranch area businesses for information leading to the conviction of the person responsible for the Thursday night robbery. They will keep your name anonymous. Call 754.0835. We have not received the official Sheriffs release as of yet, but as soon as we do will put it up. |

Cold Springs, CA…..There has been a large fire reported in Cold Springs in Tuolumne County. First personnel on scene stated, fire is now 2 acres with 40 mile an hour winds, and structures threatened. A large column of smoke can be seen from the Twain Harte area. Crews from Tuolumne and Calaveras are on scene to assist in the fire fight. They have now issued an evacuation for 60 homes in the Cold Springs subdivision.....

CHP is responding with Ambulance Responding at Hwy 12 and Carmel in Valley Springs. It appears as if two people are pinned inside a vehicle. Hwy 12 will be closed until approximately 10:30pm...Update #2...Hwy clear at 10:36pm. Please try to avoid the area if possible. We will keep you posted if needed.

Escaped Debris Burn Cause of 28 Acre Fire in Phoenix Lake Yesterday |

Sonora, CA....CAL Fire is saying an escaped debris burn is the the cause of the 28 acre vegetation that occurred on Wednesday at 14740 Lakeside Drive in Phoenix Lake. There were no injuiries or structures involved. Damage dollar estimate not available at this time. Hand crews continue to be on scene until everything is mopped up. Full CAL Fire report is enclosed.....
