San Andreas, CA...The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) will be conducting a training burn on the north side of Don Pedro Dam at Bonds Flat Road. The burn is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. and end at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 19. Approximately nine acres of grass will be burned during the exercise......

Angels Camp, CA...Over 700 Vehicles passed through the DUI Checkpoint in Angels Camp on Friday Night. An Unlucky 13 of those drivers required further testing and of those 2 were arrested for DUI. This was a combined operation between the California Highway Patrol and the Angels Camp Police Department. It was conducted to remind drivers the risks...

San Andreas, CA...CHP has released information on a couple accidents that have happened the last few days. On Thursday, June 12th, a 57 year old Mountain Ranch Women lost control of her vehicle while in an apparently drugged state as she was heading West on Mountain Ranch Road. On Saturday, June 14th an 80 year old San Bruno Resident turned into the path of a 55 year old Turlock resident who was taken to Mark Twain St. Josephs Hospital with moderate injuries. Angels Camp, CA...Smoke in the Air...there was a small fire just off of Dogtown Road, a couple miles out of Angels Camp overnight. Just grass, no structures, with approximately 4-6 acres. We have had inquiries about heavy smoke smell in the air. This is no doubt from the 100 acre plus fire in Amador County in the Moke River Drainage.

Jamestown, CA....Tuolumne County CHP Commander Mike Ayala led a press conference this morning in Jamestown on a Federal Grant they received. CHP of Tuolumne County was a recipient of a federal grant targeted at areas with high death rate per mile. The highway 12 corridor received a similar grant. This grant will pay for 1,000 officer hours that can be targeted at enforcement specifically. Also included are funds for 200 Sergeant hours and additional funds for public service announcements and outreach. The program officially started on June 1st and will run for one calender year. Two Small Vegetation Fires Reported This Morning in Calaveras County |

CAL Fire is reporting two small fires that occurred today, June 12th. The first one was reported at 2006 Hwy 49 and Deer Creek Road in Angels Camp. Cause is unknown. Total damages were 1/4 acre of vegetation, with $75 of damages. The second was a small spot of grass fire at 147 Shady Lane at Parrotts Ferry Road in Murphys. Cause is unknown. CAL Fire reports are enclosed....

Stockton, CA....June 12th, 2008....(Update) Angelica Wylie returned home at 2pm Thursday. See enclosed for article from The Stockton Record. A 12-year-old girl was abducted in Stockton Wednesday evening by a 71-year-old man. According to the state's Office of Emergency Service's Emergency Digital Information Service, an Amber Alert has been issued for Angelica Marie Wylie. She was abducted about 7 p.m. Wednesday, according to the alert. She is a white girl standing 5 feet 1 inch tall, weighs about 115 pounds and has brown hair worn in a ponytail, and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a gray shirt, dark blue jeans, black Vans shoes and a white metal necklace with white stone..... |
