Calaveras County Announces Free Music In The Parks for 2016

San Andreas, CA...Calaveras Arts Council has hosted free summer concerts for over two decades. Music in the Parks 2016 will be another great music series. The “first day of summer” starts a week earlier in Calaveras County. On Wednesday, June 15, the Calaveras Arts Council begins its 25nd year of providing free music in the county parks from Copperopolis to Arnold, and Valley Springs to West Point. This fun filled musical road show is called Music in the Parks. Residents and visitors pack up their favorite picnic treats, pull together their lawn chairs and blankets, and set out for ten weeks of great music, family friendly environments, and kick back to savor the experience.

Valley Springs, CA...Lehr, Cecilia, 74 years of age passed away peacefully at her home in Valley Springs, California on February 21st, 2016. A native of San Francisco, she attended Balboa High School. Cecilia had a long career with Bank of America in the San Francisco Financial district achieving many accomplishments in the fields of accounting and Computer management. Born in San Francisco on April 28th, 1941 to Claude and Lillian Timbresa she loved gardening and cooking. She spent as much time outside, in her front yard, as she possibly could and many hours in her kitchen with her recipes and love of cooking. Her other activities included membership with the Ladies Auxiliary VFW and writing the monthly newsletter Gold Mine for the Jackson Elks Lodge....
Ford Overturns In Minor Injury Accident. Ford Placed Back On Wheels & Drives Away

Valley Springs, CA...On 03/03/2016 at approximately 1550 hours, Party 1(Reed) was driving V-1(Ford) southbound on Butler Lane, north of Heney Lane. P-1 lost control on the gravel roadway causing V-1 to travel up an embankment. The incline of the embankment caused V-1 to roll onto the passenger side. The involved parties sustained minor injuries and V-1 was uprighted and driven from the scene.
