Angels Camp, CA...Commissioner Wooster’s comment is being taken out of context and misrepresented to the public. Mr. Wooster did not say “the term invasive species should include people from Mexico”. It is shameful that the media and the opposition are twisting his words to reflect a different meaning.

San Andreas, CA...The deadline to register for the 2016 Mother Lode Madness 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament is approaching. If you haven't done so already, get your team for this year's event finalized and mail your entry form in by Friday, April 8! Boys and girls, men and women of all ages are invited to participate in the annual Mother Lode Madness tournament. The event features a variety of divisions, including open divisions. Players are allowed to play for a team in more than one division (as long as the division is not below there age/grade level).

Traffic Update....Vehicle Continues Past End Of Road In Valley Springs |

Valley Springs, CA....CHP is reporting that a vehicle continued past the end of a dead end road. It was initially reported as a possible injury accident but it has been changed to non-injury. The hospital is however doing a mental evaluation on the driver.

High School Artists Featured in annual Show at Calaveras Arts Council |

San Andreas, CA...ArtSpirit, the 19th annual High School Juried Exhibition opened on March 4th in Calaveras Arts Council’s Gallery Store. Student artists are from Calaveras and Bret Harte high schools and submitted artwork created during their classroom sessions. The artwork was judged and ribbons are hung on the pieces in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in 10 different categories. The public is welcome to come in, view the show during regular gallery hours, Tuesday – Thursday from 11:00am to 6:00pm and Friday from 11:00am to 3:00pm. The show closes on Saturday, April 2. The gallery is located at 22 Main, San Andreas. Due to scheduling issues there will not be a reception however there are treats for those who visit the ArtSpirit exhibition.

Calaveras County Announces Free Music In The Parks for 2016 |

San Andreas, CA...Calaveras Arts Council has hosted free summer concerts for over two decades. Music in the Parks 2016 will be another great music series. The “first day of summer” starts a week earlier in Calaveras County. On Wednesday, June 15, the Calaveras Arts Council begins its 25nd year of providing free music in the county parks from Copperopolis to Arnold, and Valley Springs to West Point. This fun filled musical road show is called Music in the Parks. Residents and visitors pack up their favorite picnic treats, pull together their lawn chairs and blankets, and set out for ten weeks of great music, family friendly environments, and kick back to savor the experience.
