Escaped Debris Burn Cause of 2 1/2 acres of Grass Vegetation Fire in Rancho Calaveras

Rancho Calaveras, CA....CAL Fire states an escaped debris burn is the cause of a 2 1/2 acre grass vegetation fire in Rancho Calaveras on Monday, May 31, 2010. There were no injuries reported. $500 in damages were reported. Board of Supervisors Approve Valley Springs Plan~Video Coming Soon

San Andreas, CA....The Board voted 4~1 today to approve the Tofanelli led compromise Valley Springs Community plan. We just spoke with District 1 Supervisor Tofanelli and Chief Architect of the compromise Valley Springs Community Plan and he seemed pleased they got something through today. He said they tried to include something for all of the groups that participated. They especially were mindful of the needs and rights of the affected property owners. He stressed that they went out of their way to listen to the various points of view and to be as inclusive as they could be. We also spoke with District 2, Supervisor, Tom Tryon and he seemed pleased with the progress made today as well. Supervisor Thomas also applauded Supervisors Tofanelli's leadership on this issue and said that this plan took into account the views and interests of the land owners better than the originally developed community plan...

Traffic Alert...Possible Shooting on Hartvickson Lane in Valley Springs Area

Valley Springs, CA...If you are in the Valley Springs area you may want to avoid the Hartvickson Lane area for a bit. Crews are responding to reports of a possible shooting. Medical crews are being staged so the Sheriffs Office can make sure the area is secure. Please use caution or avoid the area for the next few minutes....Update as of 9:21pm...Nothing to see here move along... Luckily it ended up being just a pellet gun incident with a minor arm injury. More to come when we receive press release.

Specializing in General Medicine, Dr. Gonzales will be treating the adolescent through geriatric population for the full spectrum of medical concerns. Angels Camp, CA....Four of the 25th Assembly Candidates tee shots, chips and putts in the Fireside Room at Greenhorn Creek. The Assembly race drew a talented and seasoned group of candidates. Not only would the District be well represented by any of the contestants Modesto's Bill Conrad told us that it was one of the best group of candidates he has seen. On hand last night were Tuolumne County Supervisor and Candidate Teri Murrison, Kurt Vander Weide, Kristin Olsen and the aforementioned Bill Conrad. The Republicans of Ebbetts Pass organized and moderated the event. We have video of most of the evening starting with the Candidates opening statements..

Valley Springs, CA...Can you believe it is already Pow Wow Time? The entire Snyder family invites the public to their Annual Pow Wow every May. The 36th Annual Pow Wow will be held at the Snyder Ranch in Valley Springs. It runs from Friday to Sunday. With over 200 vendors of rocks, gems, minerals great food, music, remote controlled airplanes, and even marshmallow guns at the working cattle ranch over the weekend, how can you miss it! This annual event has been a huge draw every year! Over the last 30 years the ranch has continued inviting "rockhounds" every May. Expanding to gems, jewelry, silversmithing, fossils, and many more of our earth's treasures. Returning vendors have become more than just "rockhounds:" Their pow wow family has extended to dozens of volunteers who help make every detail go smoothly. Their smiles and dedication make every pow wow a wonderful experience.....
