Mountain Ranch, CA…In 1950, we started out as a family operation with Erich’s father and mother, August and Freida Sender, in a century-old adobe building. The upstairs was home to the Sender family, and the first floor included groceries, a meat market, a bar, and a small eating place called Opa’s Smokehouse. On Christmas morning in 1968, the old store was destroyed by fire. But in June 1969, Sender’s Market, Inc. was opened. Since that time, there have been many changes, including remodeling, expansion, and the addition of many employees. That’s also when we added the truss plant and purchased Sender’s Market Ace Hardware in Valley Springs. Today, we’re still family owned and still working hard to stock everything from pantry essentials to power tools. Whether you’ve got questions about the perfect cut of meat or the right kind of paint, our helpful, knowledgeable staff has you covered. Click on images below for larger versions

Wallace, CA...Russell E. Grossman Jr. December 4, 1940 ~ March 28, 2024 (age 83). Russell Edward Grossman, Jr., 83, passed away on March 28, 2024, in Jackson, CA. Russell was born on December 04, 1940, in Pampa, TX to parents Russell and Viola (Tubbs) Grossman Sr.. Russell was a retired insurance agent with Farmers Insurance in San Andreas, CA. Russell is survived by Spouse Susan Annette Brown. Services will be held at a later date.

Roads impacted by this event in Calaveras County include State Route 12 & 26, Baldwin Street, Burson Road, Camanche Parkway South, Campo Seco Road, Daphne Street, Hartvickson Lane, Hogan Dam Road, Olive Orchard Road, Ospital Road, Paloma Road, Pardee Dam Road, Silver Rapids Road, Southworth Road, and Stoney Creek Road.

Valley Springs, CA...The Foothills Little League is hosting the opening day parade in Valley Springs on Saturday, March 30, 2024, from 7:30 AM to 10:00 AM. The Parade will impact the following roads: Daphne Street, Pine Street and Sequoia Street.
