Traffic Alert...Rollover Accident on Vista Del Lago |

Valley Springs, CA...Crews are responding to a rollover accident on Vista Del Lago near Hartvickson Lane. CHP is reporting that the vehicle took out the mail box and rolled into the yard of a nearby home. Luckily the injuries are not being reported as serious. More to follow if need be. Please use caution in the area.. |

Valley Springs, CA....Lonnie McCraney was born December 12, 1951 and was layed to rest on May 20, 2010. Originally from Los Angeles, he settled in Valley Springs In 1958 with his family. Mother Addie McCraney,father Lawrence McCraney, brothers and sisters, Carrie West, Linda McCraney, Danny McCraney, David McCraney, Tim McCraney, and Beckie McCraney. Lonnie was widowed by beautiful and loving Lynn Aubrey (McCraney). Lonnie also had to beloved daughters Nikki Hoskins and Tasha Ballew. His grandchildren who were the light of his life, Sierra Stackpole, Garrett Hoskins, Aubrey Ballew, and another grandson due to arrive in September....

Valley Springs, CA.....!Akimbo, an uplifting, harmonious and rhythmic ensemble will make their 4th appearance in the Music in the Parks series when they head to the Valley Springs Ball Field on Wednesday, June 23, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. Bring your picnics, chairs, and personal sun umbrellas for the free concert. According to the Calaveras Arts Council which is presenting the series for its 19th season, the sun sets behind the hill at 7:00 pm casting a vast welcomed shaded area on the lush green grass. The dragonflies also make their appearance then.....

CAL Fire States Vehicle Dragging a Chain Cause of 56 Acre Fire in Jenny Lind |

Jenny Lind, CA....The 56 acre vegetation fire that broke out Friday afternoon was caused by a vehicle dragging a chain, states CAL Fire. The fire was located at 10357 Ospital Road in Jenny Lind. There was over $11,000.00 in damages. Valley Springs, CA...Crews are responding to a vegetation fire on Amos & Pettinger. Please use caution in the area. Update 8:40pm, fire is at 1/2 acre. They are getting an upper hand on it. Structures were initially threatened, but no longer. Update 8:54pm, 1 Acre, 3-4 hours left of mop up. Great job crews!

Arnold, CA...The County turned out yesterday starting in Valley Springs at just after 2pm as the procession of Gavin's Family returning home from the sad trip to Delaware where Gavin Brummund returned the US after his death serving his country in Afghanistan. Starting at the County line where escorts from the Calaveras County Sheriff's department met the Military Van thousands lined the roads to show their support of the families. Along their path down Hwy 12 through Valley Springs to San Andreas, Angels Camp, Murphys, Avery and Finishing their sad return in Arnold the family was greeted with Fire Trucks, Veterans, Friends...
