Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil Responds to Retribution from California Senate Democratic Party Following Party Switch

Sacramento, CA...In a stunning display of political retribution, Democrats in the California State Senate have responded to Senator Alvarado-Gil’s (R-Jackson) decision to leave the Democratic Party by stripping her of all her committee assignments and removing her from the Latino Caucus. Despite these punitive actions, Senator Alvarado-Gil remains committed to representing the people of California, and her Senate District 4.

“How far will the Democrats go because they’re angry?” Senator Alvarado-Gil asked. “I can take whatever heat is coming my way and fully recognize it comes with the territory of leaving a supermajority that operates like a mob. They can attack me all they want, but the people of California do not deserve to suffer because of political vendettas.”

This week, the Democrats' retaliation against Senator Alvarado-Gil raises serious concerns about the future of several key bills she is authoring to protect Californians:

SB 268: Making Rape of an Intentionally Intoxicated Person a Violent Felony

SB 796: Making General Threats against a School or Place of Worship a Felony

SB 1088: Improving Water Infrastructure for Rural Communities Facing Imminent Wildfire Threats

By killing SB 268, Democrats won’t care about protecting victims of sexual violence – rather, they would prefer to protect rapists who take advantage of vulnerable people.

If the Democrats axe SB 796, they would be turning a blind eye to the safety of our children and communities, allowing mass shooters to go unpunished.

Finally, Democrats will abandon rural Californians in their time of need, refusing to safeguard our water systems and prevent devastating wildfires if they don’t push SB 1088 forward. This particular move will speak volumes amid their significant backing of Proposition 4 (water bonds) on this year’s November ballot.

Senator Alvarado-Gil is calling on all Californians to make their voices heard. “This is not just about one senator; this is about ensuring critical legislation is not sacrificed on the altar of political retribution. I urge you to call or email Pro-Tem McGuire’s office or your local senator. Let them know that you won’t stand for this. We must put the people of California first.”

###

Senator Alvarado-Gil represents the 4th Senate District including the Counties of Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, El Dorado, Inyo, Madera, Mariposa, Merced, Mono, Nevada, Placer, Stanislaus, and Tuolumne.

There is no appropriate response, she should lose her seat immediately. She was voted in NOT as a republican. She is a classic GOP phony.

    Where does that stand fellas?
Waiting with baited breath for your findings?
Weren't you supposed to release your findings about 2 months ago?
Haven't seen you on FOX lately..
Waiting for the evidence to be presented so we can prosecute Joe and Hunter.

Wonder why we haven't heard from the lying, koksucking Republicans of Calatrumplica on this very subject?

Dems will speak in 2026
Posted on: 2024-08-14 11:48:20   By: Anonymous

Firstly, she was elected as a Dem. So going over to the GOP does NOT represent me. She, as a Republican definitely does not represent my wife or any other woman given the GOPs war on woman.
Good for the Dem leadership, what the hell was she thinking?
Her constituents will speak in 2026. Better still, resign your seat, your fake concern for the people who voted for you doesn't ring true.
Bye bye now.

What this smells like is FAKE NEWS and FAKE OUTRAGE brought to us by our guy Hamilton.

To give Hamilton credit for some knowledge of our government, he would certainly know that committee seats are assigned by party in a ratio that is roughly proportional to the ratio of Dems to Repubes in the senate.
When this lady swapped parties she threw that ratio out of wack on any committee she was member of.
Hence, she was dropped by the Dems; you can bank the Repubes would have done the same.
This housekeeping, Alvarado-Gil knows this, and I'd bet Hamilton knows this also.
But here we are with a completely manufactured, misleading article for what?
To plant misleading outrage and anger?
    What's going on here Hamilton?
BTW, Alvarado-Gil can be seated on committee today, by the repubes; but obviously they're not going to remove one current committee member to install a newly minted party member.
Dumb move on Alvarado-Gil's part, she and her constituents are now starting from the bottom of the heap.

    Do better John.
Just because it's dotard meat, bait, doesn't necessarily mean it's worthy of publication.

Todays poll ? The Federal Dept of Education has a budget of $68 billion. They have a staff of 4,400 people in DC. This is a what I found out after digging a little bit ( their accomplishments for 23-24 are as follows). #1 Helped in excusing $15 billion in student loan debt #2 Took action to advance equity in education #3. Made significant progress in creating educational environments free from discrimination or harm!
After looking at these accomplishments, did the American tax payer benefit from their claims?

How many of you out there agree that having the first female president is why you would vote for Kamala?

If the Federal Dept of Education was disbanded, would that make or break our local school system?

I think they are headed inland. Getting away from the coast and the huge Blue Wave that is gaining momentum out in the Pacific and is going to come crashing onshore on November 5th.

Today at his press conference. Trump is saying he and JD are not weird. That people do not know Kamala’s last name. And the Supreme Court said he has immunity for everything. Guess what. All not true …
