Looks like it's going to take deaths to return to the obvious life lived knowledge of the past best practices.

That dangerous and careless mapping shown to the average public needs to go immediately. The average person can not tell what is inside the colored areas or if a friend or relative might be in it, so they could offer help or a place to stay. On top of that any visitors in the area are in danger too.

The general public and news should always be shown streets, cross streets and any significant landmarks to quickly be able to know where the fire is and how much danger it does, or could have for them.

Looks like it is going to take deaths and lawsuits to get the obvious simple at a glance maps back for the public safety. Why? oh why? do we keep going backwards with the important knowledge and obvious best practices we have learned over the ages? Nothing but fools in charge of everything and endangering everyone around them.

    Dangerous and careless mapping.
If you're anywhere near the pink or yellow area on the map, just look out your window or door.
It will be quite obvious whether you should evacuate.

      Really???

If everything is SO OBVIOUS why even have a map?

If everything is SO OBVIOUS why are we wasting on a county IES that can't put/get anything as simple together as a readable map together.

Our county OES is a danger to the public welfare/health.

An after action report was issued that identified a successful evacuation plan used by CDF (at the time) during the Old Gluch Fire. It was recommended that the plan be implemented however CDF/Calfire did not follow through. It seems that the program would have identified the above concerns. It also would have made a positive impact on other fires like the Camp Fire in Paradise Ca. Very likely prevented some of the deaths.
