San Andreas Main Street Felony Assault

San Andreas, CA...On June 22, 2024, at approximately 3:00 PM, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported disturbance on Main Street in San Andreas. Deputies arriving at the scene found a victim with a head injury who was involved in a physical altercation. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated for his injuries.

The victim recalled a violent attack by two male assailants, one of whom used pepper spray, while both men proceeded to kick him. The victim reported losing consciousness several times during the assault but was still able to provide information for the sheriff’s office to further the investigation. The investigative efforts continued over the following days, and deputies identified one of the suspects as 34-year-old San Andreas resident Jeremy Lovell.

On July 9, 2024, at approximately 8:30 PM, deputies responded to an unrelated disturbance at Lovell’s residence in the 100 block of East Saint Charles Street, San Andreas. When deputies arrived, they received information that Lovell had fled the area. However, he was found hiding inside a trailer on the property. Upon contact, Lovell did not comply with deputies and attempted to reach for a butcher knife. The arresting deputy quickly intervened, preventing a potentially deadly confrontation. Lovell was taken into custody without further incident.
Jeremy Lovell was booked into the Calaveras County Jail on charges of assault with serious bodily injury and resisting or delaying a peace officer.

The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office requests anyone with information about this altercation to contact their office.
