January 9 is World Premiere of "Water Our Gold"
Angels Camp, CA...Utica and the City of Angels Camp are inviting the community to join us at Bret Harte Theater at 6 p.m. Monday Jan. 9 for the premiere of "Water: Our Gold". This video tells the fascinating, 170-year story of the Utica Water and Power Authority dating back to the Gold Rush in 1852. Residents of Angels Camp and Murphys will be amazed at the incredible journey their water takes.
This is a free event. If you plan to attend, please RSVP to admin@uticawater.com or call our office at (209) 736-9419 so we can make sure to have enough complimentary refreshments and cookies for everyone.

CA water rights

Being a lifelong Californian, I should be more cognizant of water rights in our state.
I've watched Chinatown numerous times.
I know a little about the Owen's River history sending water to LA. Same with the Mendota Canal.
Living part of my life, I was aware of the local water districts like: Turlock, Modesto, Oakdale.
The political history of sending Northern CA water south via tunnels and canals is still kind of a mystery to me.
My point is, are Northern CA legislators going to allow water(that in my opinion should flow only thru the Delta, and on to SF Bay) to follow its natural progression to the ocean? Water is a human necessity that needs to be protected by our state legislators.
If Southern CA thinks they are entitled to the north's water, then the voters need to speak up.
And I don't mean a State of Jefferson solution.

Not necessarily. Along with naturally occurring caustic things, past mining, birds spreading disease, illegal shack building, influx of people crawling all over there, off roaders, camping. etc. And don't forget those who do illegal dumping. Mines and shafts are places where despicable people have always dumped caustic things.

Angels Camp residents. Your water comes from the sky in the form of rain and snow. It then works its way downhill to your podunk town. You are welcome.
