"Although the consumer price index, which measures a basket of everyday goods including food, rent and gasoline, came in cooler than expected at 8.5% in July, food prices accelerated further, the Labor Department reported on Wednesday. The food at home category, which tracks the cost of groceries, surged 13.1% over the last year, the most significant increase since March 1979. On a monthly basis, prices jumped 1.4%.
"Consumers are getting a break at the gas pump, but not at the grocery store," said Greg McBride, chief financial analyst at Bankrate.com. "Food prices, and especially costs for food at home, continue to soar, rising at the fastest pace in more than 43 years."

Trickle down.
Costs of goods won't come down until goods on the shelf are sold.
News good arrive, prices should reflect transportation costs.
Unfortunately, not all retailers react the same. Some are greedier than others. Capitalism at its finest. Consumers sometimes figure out those that make money off ignorant consumers.
Meat prices and produce prices should come down first. Or you would think.
Seems like meat producers are the worst offenders. It's sometimes weeks, or even months before their prices reflect lower production costs.
Produce providers are more conscious of production costs in the prices they set because of the availability of Mexican produce.
Don't get me started on downsizing of packaging to reduce costs. Like that 30 Oz carton of milk.

I heard that the Libtards are going to put on a Prius/Tesla event at Frogtown. The community will be excluded unless you believe in Plug’s GREEN NEW DEAL, and that Hunter , who is on vacation with Plug’s boarded the flight to the multi-gazillion dollar house donated by Disney, with his crack pipe, his crayon’s, and his dishonorable discharge in his bag, not to mention the brain surgeon, Dr. Jill! Once again, this poor lady looks like a total “CARE GIVER”, Plugs had his swim suit sting wrapped up in his bib, we could go on and on, but enjoy the monster trucks, I saw one at Save Mart yesterday, pretty ingenious suspension! When handed a toy monster truck or Tesla, if you are a boy, the Tesla would be thrown down by any 3 to 6 yr. Old, no matter what party mom and dad claim!
