Downed Trees Threatened Water Supply
Avery, CA...A large black oak fell across Utica’s canal near Avery this week. Fortunately, it didn’t compromise the canal bank or cause a blockage, but it did create a precarious situation. A big thanks to the crews from the Vallecito Conservation Camp under Cal Fire’s direction for helping our team safely cut up and remove the hazard tree.
Incidents like these are a good reminder how important Utica’s routine canal patrols are to ensure the public water supply keeps flowing to Murphys, Vallecito and Angels Camp.
