Pine Grove, CA...On Wednesday January 1, 2020 at around 4:37 PM, the Amador County Sheriff’s Office received a telephone call from a woman who stated she was currently out of state, but concerned for her husband’s welfare. The caller said her husband, 52 year old Lance Purdy of Pine Grove, flew home that morning to check on their son, 20 year old Sean Purdy. When she never heard from her husband she became even more concerned. A neighbor in the area, witnessed the son leaving the family home quickly in a 2017 blue Subaru Outback. The neighbor also discover a large amount of blood in and around the residence.

Amador County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the home at 12495 Kevkie Ct, Pine Grove. Detectives discovered what appeared to be a homicide scene, indicating that a homicide had taken place.

An arrest warrant for Sean Patrick Purdy was issued for 187(A) PC (Murder) along with a stop and detain on the Subaru. Detectives tracked Sean’s cellular phone to the North Shore Tahoe area. El Dorado County, Placer County, Douglas County and Washoe County Sheriff’s Offices were notified.

On January 2, 2020 at around 1:18 AM Washoe County deputies spotted Sean at a convenience store in Incline Village. Sean fled on foot as deputies attempted to apprehend him. The search for Sean by Washoe County is on-going. Detectives from the Amador County Sheriff’s Office have responded and recovered the Subaru.
