The Jail Grant is On It's Way! Board of Supervisor's Morning Session Recap~By John Hamilton
San Andreas, CA...Of the many agenda items discussed in the Board of Supervisors meeting this morning, the biggest item was, the New Jail Grant is on its way. Undersheriff Mike Walker told the Board that the AB 900 Jail Funds Grant application is being driven from the consultants office to Sacramento today. The application will now go under technical review...
The Jail Issue will remain on the Board of Supervisors agenda for the next few weeks to allow for action if necessary to make minor adjustments if needed.
It needs to remain on the agenda even if no action is needed as a time saving measure. If the grant application under review is deemed insufficient they can make timely changes without having to lose precious time in getting matters agendized.
The Board had a passing fancy for all of the items for today. This includes all of the consent items as well as the regular agenda items. All items passed on 5-0 votes after discussion.
Public Comment took up a good deal of time during the morning session. Some of the items discussed included: Is leasing out beds in the new jail a good long term strategy, In Home Health Care Worker Compensation, The Rail Road Flat School and more.
The biggest item on the agenda will take place this afternoon at 2:30pm in the Board Chambers when their will be a Chamber of Commerce Study session focusing on Economic Vitality and Development.
