Get Ready to Get Your Gardening Gloves Out!
Arnold, CA...The Calaveras County Garden Club will hold its next general meeting on March 12, 2008 at Serafina's in Arnold. (The old "Weather Station" on the north side of Hwy 4.) The program will feature Jim Bergantz who is working to rally "green thumbs" to restore the operation of the Bret Harte High School Greenhouse. The objective of the Greenhouse Project is to modify the greenhouse so that it may be used as a teaching tool for Bret Harte students....
and become an integral component in the Ag curriculum. Our Garden Club has committed a contribution to the project and Jim Bergantz will bring us up-to-date on the current greenhouse activites and plans for the future.
Check -in is 11:00 A.M., presentation at 11:30 A.M., meeting and lunch at 12:30 P.M. Reservations deadline is March 4. For reservations call 795-2969.
On March 14-16, 2008, members will enter their floral designs for the Artistic Division competition held at Kautz Ironstone Winery.
March 26, 2008 we will be doing Spring clean-up at the Pioneer Schoolhouse in Douglas Flat from 9 A.M. to 11 A.M. Bring gloves, tools, weather permitting.
