“The Angel Auction” to Benefit Local Arts and Healthcare

The arts and hospital technology both benefit with the upcoming 6th annual Angel Auction, a sale of original art, fine wines and unique experience packages, to be held in Calaveras County on Saturday, June 28. This year’s theme, Mediterranean Mystique, is sure to inspire the event’s cuisine, decorations, fashion, and the famous “Treasure Chest”, the key to which will unlock an exotic vacation for two.....

The lush greens and oaks of the Greenhorn Creek Golf Resort setting in Angels Camp provide the unique Sierra foothills backdrop for the evening event. Both the indoor and the sunset veranda areas of Camps Restaurant at Greenhorn will be used for the various activities, including a reception, a silent auction, music, a sit-down, and a multi-course, wine-paired gourmet dinner created especially by Camps’ chef. The festive evening finale is the Treasure Chest drawing and the spirited Live Auction. Included will be etched magnums and cases of extraordinary wines, original paintings and sculpture by renowned regional artists, as well as and other enticing unique items, such as catered group dinners, tours, golf packages, and more. You never know what you’re going to find. Celebrated auctioneer Rose Backs returns for a third year of rousing bid calls.

In its mere five-year history, the popular elegant-but-casual event, which attracts people from all over northern California, has raised over $175,000 for two local non-profits, the Calaveras Arts Council and the Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation. These two organizations affect nearly all county residents in some way. They directly support the local community and all who call Calaveras home or hope to call the “little gem of a rural area” home someday. This year’s Angel Auction event promises to be one to remember with lots of Mediterranean Mystique fun.

For more information on attendance, including overnight accommodations at Greenhorn Creek, Angel Auction sponsorship tables or individual event reservations, which are $100 a person, please call the Calaveras Arts Council at (209)754-1774 or online at www.theangelauction.org.
