...MOUNTAIN SNOW THIS EVENING INTO MONDAY NIGHT...

.Pacific storm will bring periods of moderate to heavy snow to
the mountains of Western Plumas county and the Northern Sierra
Nevada this evening through Monday evening. Combined with strong
wind at times, travel into the mountains is expected to be
difficult. Dry weather forecast Tuesday.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING
TO 11 PM PDT MONDAY...

* WHAT...Snow expected...heavy at times. Plan on difficult travel
conditions with slick roads, reduced visibility, travel delays
and chain controls. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches,
with localized amounts up to 18 inches for highest peaks, are
expected.

* WHERE...West Slope Northern Sierra Nevada including Interstate
80 and Highway 50.

* WHEN...6 PM today to 11 PM Monday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Be prepared for reduced visibilities at
times with strong wind gusts.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will
cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered
roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
