Congressional Candidate Jessica Morse Announces Almost Half-Million-Dollar War Chest On Hand in Second Campaign Filing Report

Roseville, CA....The Jessica Morse for Congress campaign today announced that she has raised more than $294,000 and has more than $492,000 cash on hand in her race to defeat Tom McClintock in the 4th Congressional District. In her first quarter (Q3), Jessica raised $268,000, which was more money raised by any challenger in an entire campaign cycle since McClintock was elected in 2008. Her campaign has raised a total of over $557,000 in the two quarters she has been in the race. By comparison, McClintock raised less than $150,000 and only had $350,000 cash on hand in the third quarter (Q3).

“I'm humbled and inspired by the overwhelming support for our campaign,” said Jessica Morse. “Thousands of people are investing in our race from across the political spectrum. Everyone is hungry for a campaign that inspires rather than divides. Our message of putting our community above party is energizing a grassroots wave in our district that will take us to victory in November.”

Morse is a former national security strategist with over a decade of service in the Defense Department, State Department, and USAID. She has worked in some of the most dangerous places in the world - including more than a year in Iraq at the height of the war. In Congress, Morse will focus on promoting job creation, investing in fire prevention, and protecting our natural resources, including through water conservation and forest management.

Morse lives in Pollock Pines. She is a fifth-generation northern Californian whose ancestors crossed the Sierra in covered wagons and settled outside of Auburn, where Morse and her family still own and manage two hundred acres of forestland today.
