Mail Theft at Sonora US Post Office
Sonora, CA...During the New Year's Holiday weekend unknown suspect(s) broke into the drive up postal drop box at the Sonora Post Office located at 781 S. Washington Street. An unknown amount of mail was taken from the box. The Sonora Police Department encourages anyone who dropped mail containing checks or bank/credit card account information to closely monitor your account history and cancel any credit cards if unauthorized transactions occur on your accounts.
The Sonora Police Department is asking the public to report any suspicious activity observed in that area over the weekend or contact us with any known information about this theft. This investigation is still on-going.
