Final Public Workshop for San Andreas SR 49 Corridor Study
San Andreas, CA...The San Andreas SR 49 Commercial Gateway & Corridor Study Draft Report has been completed and will be presented in an upcoming Calaveras County Planning Commission meeting at the following time and location: San Andreas SR 49 Commercial Gateway & Corridor Study Planning Commission Presentation and Public Workshop August 10, 2017 9:00 AM
Calaveras County Board of Supervisors Chambers
The presentation will summarize the technical findings and public involvement following input from meetings with community stakeholders, property owners and three Public Workshops that led to the recommended circulation improvements. These include:
• Continuous sidewalks and bike lanes along the entire length of St. Charles Street (SR 49) through town.
• Traffic signals, roundabouts or “bulbouts” at key intersections along SR 49 to slow traffic and allow for safer pedestrian crossing.
• Short and long term recommendations at the south end of town to improve local access to enhance economic development in the vicinity of Airport Road and slow traffic on SR 49.
• A new crosstown roadway that connects Mountain Ranch Road, SR 49 and Pool Station through the Southern Gateway area that improves crosstown local and emergency access and circulation.
The Draft Report and supporting environmental document (Mitigated Negative Declaration) are online and ready for review at our website: sanandreas.sr49.org and the County Planning Department website: http://planning.calaverasgov.us/
