Eugene Garland Bartee August 8, 1940 ‑ March 25, 2014

Arnold, California ‑ Eugene Bartee was preceded in death by his loving wife Sharon Bartee on October 26, 2007, both residents of Calaveras County for twenty years. Eugene served his country in the Navy and was a manager and engineer at Pac Tel. Eugene supported his community in many ways and loved to fish, kayak, and birdwatch. He enjoyed traveling to visit with his siblings Deloise, Bruce, Pat, Gail, David, Lovena, John, and Margret. Eugene spent his last year with his brother, John, in Oakdale and enjoyed adventures with his son, William Bartee, daughter-in-law, Carol Bartee, grandchildren Nicholas, Austin, and Megan, fishing with his daughter, Leslie Bartee-Montez, and hiking at Big Trees State Park with dogs Bandit and Sassi. Eugene also enjoyed long-distance conversations with his grandsons, Stephen and Ruben Montez. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched, and the mountain community he so loved...
