Stolen Vehicle Recovered in Jamestown High Speed Chase and Arrests
Jamestown, CA...On December 21 at 5:44pm Murphys resident Ryan A. Kennedy was arrested on vehicle theft and drug charges and and Sonora resident Jordan M. Molesworth was arrested on drug charges following a high speed chase in Jamestown....
Officer Huddleston was traveling southbound on Main Street in Jamestown when he observed a red Chevy Silverado pickup drven by Kennedy, coming from Donovan Street. Kennedy failed to stop at the stop sign and made a left onto Main Street directly in front of Officer Huddleston. Kennedy accelerated the the vehicle at such a high rate of speed that the tires broke traction and the road began to smoke.
Officer Huddleston activated the Code 4 emergency lights to make an enforcement stop. The vehicle continued towards Hwy 49 and made a right turn on Hwy 49 again accelerated at such a speed to break the traction of the tires on the road. Kennedy passed a truck that was in the lane of northbound Hwy 49 by using the two way left trun lane. Officer Huddleston continued with Code 3 lights and siren as Kennedy accelerated the vehicle at a high rate of speed. Officer Huddleston estimated the Chevy's speed to be 60 mph in a posted 40mph zone.
As Kennedy approached the intersection of Rawhide Road the left turn light was displaying the red arrow and the car was witing for the intersection. Kennedy drove the vehicle around the waiting vehicle.
The vehicle traveled off the roadway and stopped on the dirt shoulder north of Rawhide Road.
Officer Huddleston detained the driver while Officer Warzee detained the passenger of the vehicle. Upon the suspects being detained the license plate was run and found to be stolen vehicle out of San Andreas from December 18.
Marijuanna was found in the vehicle along with a glass pipe. The parties were booked into the Tuolumne County Jail.
