Angels Camp, CA....Betty Ruth (Cooper) Powell born December 31, 1930 in Torrance, CA to Beryl and Viola Cooper passed away on October 6, 2013 at her residence in Angels Camp, she was 82 yrs., old. Betty lived in Calaveras County for more than 50 yrs. During this time she worked as a Waitress, Home Health Aide and a Retail Clerk. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family. Hobbies included sewing, bingo, doll collecting, playing cards and going to yard sales...
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother. She is survived by her Husband Gary C. Powell SR., of Angels Camp, Sons James Park of Angels Camp, Richard Hemphill of Desert Hot Springs, CA., Nicholas (Jay) Coonrod of Angels Camp and Stepson Gary Powell JR., of Columbia, CA. Daughters Sheila Hamilton of Angels Camp, Karen Towers of Copperopolis, CA., Janet Airs of Southern California, and Stepdaughter Tamara Finley of Columbia, CA. Sister Gerri Cooper of Lewisville, KY. Grandchildren Sam, Sherry, Jeff, Kristen, Rebecca, Carrie and Katie, 11 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. 2 Brothers in laws, 3 Sister in laws, numerous Nieces and Nephews and special friends Janelle Brown of Angels Camp, Sue Franks of Angels Camp and Michael Coonrod of San Francisco, CA. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday October 18, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Altaville Protestant Cemetery, Altaville, CA. Donations can be made in Betty’s name to Hospice of Amador/Calaveras P.O.
