Angels Camp 4th of July Patriotic Picnic in the Park ~By John Hamilton Now Updated with Video
Angels Camp, CA...On the 4th of July a very special Patriotic Picnic in the Park was held to celebrate our local veterans, listen to great music by the US Navel Sea Cadets' "Band of the West" and much more. One very poignant event was the reading of the Declaration of Independence by Bill Soest. It was accompanied by music in the background by the "Band of the West" We have this portion in a separate video. We also have video clips of the Copperopolis VFW Post 12118 and their parade of colors, Presentation of quilts honoring some very special veterans by "Quilts of Honor" led by Gail Belmont and more...
Photos Above and Video Below...
The event was led masterfully by MC Captain Jim Dodge, US Navy (Ret)
These events are a stark reminder that members of our (Greatest Generation) is dwindling daily. Our WWII vets are now in their late 80's and 90's. One proud and arrow young man of 94 attending was not only a WWII vet but a Pearl Harbor Survivor.
From all of us at ThePineTree.net we thank all of our Veterans for their service and their willingness to lay down their lives if necessary for their country and the ideals that it was founded upon.
