The Angels Camp Museum Foundation is very pleased to offer this special presentation by noted local archaeologist Julia Costello. Her presentation is entitled "Summer in Tyre, Southern Lebanon'. Julia Costello's early career as an archaeologist in Lebanon ended with the civil war in 1974. Continued interests and friendships from that time have taken her to several projects in Jordan and Syria. In the summer of 2012 she participated in an extraordinary excavation in Tyre, Lebanon where the most complete Phoenician temple yet found in that country was identified. Her talk covers the first season of this archaeological discovery as well as a look at today's incarnation of this 3500 year old seaport. Meet with us for refreshments at 6:30pm - the lecture begins at 7:00pm.

Please Save the Date - Saturday, June 8, 2013 from 11am til 4pm - Saturday in the Mines: Celebrating Angels Camp Gold. The biggest special event of the year at the Museum. With the spirit of a Miner's Day Off, we are planning great activities and games for all ages, entertainment, food and special presentations. Admission is Free.
