Tamarack Lodge at Bear Valley Now Taking Winter Reservations!
Bear Valley, CA....Much to the contrary Tamarack Lodge at Bear Valley is open for bookings and has been open throughout the year. The past two winter owners Roz and Derek Bray opted to rent rooms out on an Winter Season Lease Option and were completely booked for the Winters 2010/2011 and 2011/2013. They have now passed on the reins to daughter Vicky Johnson and her husband Tim Johnson. Both Vicky and Tim have decided to continue with the Winter Lease option but also opened up ....

.rooms for individual and group bookings on a night to night bases. A simple “tamarack style” self- serve breakfast is included in the room price. Room range from the modest economical rooms on the second floor of the “Main Lodge” with shared bathrooms, to rooms with private bathrooms in the “Back Chalet” and a private Condo unit on the second floor of the “Barn”.
All guest have use of the spacious common room with fireplace, Satellite TV/DVD, library and kids play area, free Wi-Fi and a fully equipped guest kitchen located on the first floor of the Main Lodge. Tamarack is very affordable for families and small groups- it is a perfect spot for small reunions, retreats or sport camps. The lodge has been host to the Bear Valley Musicians for the Bear Valley Music Festival, National Outings weeks for the Sierra Club, San Jose State have held their Cross Country Running Camp here for 5 years and various school group and home school group have utilized this wonderful facility. It is open year round and is located only 2.5 miles from Bear Valley Village and 5 miles from downhill skiing at Bear Valley Mountain Resort. Winter offers a kids sledding for guests to use on the 5 acres of land that surrounds the Lodge. Complimentary snowshoes are available for use and snowshoe treks can be adventured around the property or the on the adjacent National Forest land. Tamarack Lodge as easy access of Highway 4 and parking in close proximity to all the buildings. It is a superb base for hikers, bikers, hunters, explorers and adventures during the Spring, Summer and Fall season. Rooms price during the Winter season range from $90 to $235 depending on if its mid-week, weekend or holiday periods. Spring, Summer and Fall room prices range from $70 to $175. Tamarack Lodge Winter Lease is a go!
Just a few rooms left for rent.
Lease is for the whole winter season. Devo and Race Team Family get exclusive right of rental if agreement made by November 15th. However on November15th rental rooms open up to other parties. Invite your friends to join you in on this great offer.
Prices range from $800 to $1400 per month depending on the room and bed configuration.
Large pine trimmed rooms with private and shared bathrooms. Shared bathrooms are separate for men and women each with private toilet and shower stalls and lots of hot water.
Large common room kitchen that’s fully equipped.
Large common living room with gas fire place.
Quiet library area and children’s play area.
Wireless internet service and satellite TV with DVD and VCR player (great for watching taped video sessions of skiing),.
Phone for local phone calls (calling card must be used for long distance).
Spacious laundry facilities.
Ski and Snowboard storage.
Snow removal.
6 miles from Bear Valley Mountain Resort.
Important facts
Courtesy and respect all other guests.
Quiet hours 7 am to 10 pm.
Common areas, common kitchen and shared bathrooms will be cleaned weekly by Lodge Manager.
However it is the guest’s responsibility to clean their private rooms, empty trash, clean kitchen dishes, and pick up after themselves and their children.
Winter Lease runs from approximately December 15 to April 15. Earlier if the Resort is open.
First and last month’s rental plus $300 security deposit required upon signing a rental agreement. No sub leases allowed.

All rooms include a simple self serve Continental Breakfast Served from 7:30 to 9 am.
All rooms have access to the guest kitchen, common room with fireplace and TV/DVD player, library, children's play area, WI FI located in the Main Lodge.
All room prices are based on a 1 night stay with exception of Winter Lease which is based on a monthly rate.
All room prices are based on occupancy limit with each additonal person an extra $10 per night fee. No Pets and No Smoking Facility.
*Winter Lease requires a special contract with the first and last month rent plus a $300 security fee paid 14 day prior to 1st day of arrival to guarantee the booking.
