Fomer Angels Camp City Councilman and Angels Sheet Metal Owner Robert "Bob" Clayton Eastman 1931 - 2012
Angels Camp, CA....Robert “Bob” Clayton Eastman died peacefully at the age of 81 in his home on Nov. 14, 2012 surrounded by his loving wife Brenda and his two children. Bob was born on Sept. 18, 1931 in Alameda, CA to Harlan and LaRelda “Lorry” Eastman. Bob grew up in Oakland, CA until he entered the Army in 1952 and served during the Korean War. He was in the 82nd Airborne. He was a paratrooper and Green Beret with the 10th Special Forces Unit, and was honorably discharged in 1955. In 1958 Bob married and moved to Calaveras County to raise a family. They began in Murphys and eventually moved to Altaville. Bob worked in his trade of Heating/Air Conditioning and Welding. For a time he worked for Tanner Real Estate as a sales agent. In 1967 he decided to get back into what he was passionate about and began his own business-Angels Sheet Metal Inc. He was the owner operator until he retired in 1990...
Bob proudly served on the Angels Camp City Council from 1972 thru 1978.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Brenda, his two children Lorrie Eastman and Clay Eastman, Clay’s children Clint, Kyle, and Conner, his step-son Chris (Rehka) Hiller, their children Milan, Reena, and Sonia, Step-Daughter Erika Harrop and her children Danny and Maxwell. Bob is also survived by his sister Nancy (Dick) Hanson of Murphys and preceded in death by his parents Harlan and LaRelda Eastman.
A funeral service will be held at the Union Congregational Church 1141 S. Main St. Angels Camp, CA at 11:00 A. M. on Wednesday Nov. 21st. A reception to follow at the Masonic Lodge 384 Church St. in Murphys, CA.
