First Annual Bret Harte High School Presidential Trivia Bowl November 6, 2012
Angels Camp, CA...The Bret Harte High School Renaissance Program, in conjunction with the school's social science department, is proud to announce the first-ever BHHS Presidential Trivia Bowl, Tuesday, November 6, 2012 in the school’s multi-purpose building. The event will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will feature competition by teams of Bret Harte students of all grade levels. ....
Questions will cover a variety of Oval Office facts from presidential nicknames to history making policy decisions. Period era photos, music, film footage, and literature will be combined to make the questions come to life through multi-media magic.
Members of the winning (1st place) team will each receive a $300.00 scholarship and a $100.00 cash prize. Additional prizes and scholarships will be awarded based on sponsorships secured prior to the event. Scholarship funds awarded for this event were generated through community contributions at the second annual Celebrity Waiter Dinner in held in September.
Registration for the competition can be completed in the student's social science class or the main office--registration closes November 5.
Competitors are encouraged to form rooting sections (entourages) to cheer their success during the competition. Rooting sections will be judged by an impartial panel and the best rooting section will receive a pizza party at lunch during the following week of school.
