Great Turnout for Week Two of "Stuff The Bus" Event!~by Darren Spellman

Valley Springs, CA...Saturday was week two of the "Stuff the Bus" event co-sponsored by the Resource Connection and Calaveras Transit and we had a great turnout in Valley Springs. There were about 15 volunteers representing various agencies including myself and Gary Tofanelli as county supervisors working shifts from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. collecting food for people in need of a holiday meal. ....

At the end of the day, due to the very gracious giving spirit of the Valley Springs community, we were able to fill two pallet sized crates to overflowing and collected 32 turkeys for holiday meals.

There is still a great need for more food, especially during this holiday season, but the donations received at Saturday's event in Valley Springs were very inspiring for myself and my family who helped me work the event. I believe we were very blessed to have participated and felt uplifted that in such a time of need, with so many harsh societal pressures, our friends and neighbors were very cheerful and generous in their willingness to help those who might not be able to enjoy a traditional holiday meal this season otherwise.
