HOSPITAL HOSTS DRIVE TO HELP NEEDY ANIMALS
The Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital’s Employee Satisfaction Team is at it again! They have initiated a drive to help the many animals whose owners have been affected by the downturn in the economy. Effective immediately, anyone can drop off pet food, cat litter, animal treats, collars, leashes, and cat carriers at the hospital or the Family Medical Centers in Arnold, Angels Camp, Copperopolis, San Andreas and Valley Springs by June 30th. The desperately needed items will be forwarded to The Resource Connection, Animal Control and the Calaveras Humane Society. The hospital hopes to “Stuff another van” with the donations. ....
“It is evident this need exists” said Cathy Davis, pet drive coordinator. “When we delivered the food from our Food Drive in February, staff indicated our animal friends were needy too. Many pets have just been abandoned.”
“This project is just one more activity the hospital family can do to improve the health of our community” said hospital president Feliciano Jiron. “We’re all in this together. And together we will succeed.”
Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital is a not-for-profit, 25-bed critical access hospital serving all of the foothill communities. Established in 1951 as Mark Twain District Hospital and centrally located in San Andreas, the hospital is partnered with Catholic Healthcare West to further strengthen this rural hospital to meet future community needs. The hospital is supported by 36 active physicians practicing in 24 specialties.
