Youg Scientists Came Out on Saturday for The Annual Science Fair!~With Results Enclosed
Calaveras County students in grades four through twelve, who are recommended by their school or who have won at their school’s Science Fair, participated in a countywide Science Fair that was held on Saturday. It was Sponsored by the Teichert Foundation and the Calaveras County Office of Education, this was the 26th Annual Science Fair, which was held in the Calaveras River Academy Mountain Oaks School gymnasium. Judging of projects began at 9:00 am and included an interview with the student, and a team of judges. Awards were then presented at the Awards Ceremony in the afternoon....
Judging standards were based on creativity, scientific thought, skill and clarity. Awards were presented to the first, second and third place winners at each grade level and a grand prize was awarded to the most outstanding project.
In addition to trophies, each entry received a Science Fair Participant medal. Sixth, seventh and eighth as well as high school grade winners will be eligible to compete in the State Science Fair at the California Science Center in Los Angeles on May 2-3, 2011.
Following the judging, fair projects were able to be viewed by the public until approximately 3:30 pm.
There were 74 project entries.
