Update on Valley Springs Accident CHP Relaese is Enclosed

Valley Springs, CA...The CHP release for yesterdays accident on Hwy 26. A 75 year old Valley Springs Man was traveling westbound on SR26 at an unknown rate of speed, when due to his inattention to the roadway ahead of him, he allowed his vehicle to to travel to the right and off the paved portion of the roadway...

while attempting to negotiate a natural curve in the roadway to his left. His vehicle entered a shallow ditch and then traveled partially up the embankment. His Honda then traveled back to the left and across both traffic lanes. The Honda then traveled off the roadway and struck the embankment located on the south side of the road. The Honda traveled up the embankment, struck a barbed wire fence, and overturned multiple times. After the collision, the Honda came to a rest on its left side facing the southerly direction off the roadway.

The driver sustained minor injuries but the passenger sustained fractured ribs and pneumothorax
