Grandson's Quick Actions May Have Saved Grandfather's Life. CHP Release Enclosed
Valley Springs, CA...Richard Brown and Tristan Vickerman were riding on a ATV-4-Wheeler on private property. For an unknown reason, Vickerman grabbed the accelerator of the ATV. This caused Brown and Vickerman to lose control of the ATV and flip over the back. The ATV then collided with a fence. Brown sustained a moderate injury and was experiencing substantial blood loss...
The collision was approximately a tenth of a mile from their home, down a steep hill. Brown was unable to call 911 from his cell phone for help. Vickerman was able to run to the home and notify his grandmother of the collision and that Brown, his grandfather, was bleeding. Brown credits his 3 year old grandson with possibly saving his life...
