Arnold, CA...An Excessive Heat Warning starts this morning at 11am and continues until 8pm on Sunday for most of our area. The high county will provide some cooling as typically there is at least a 20 degree shift in temps from the Hwy 49 level. It will be breezy at times as well which will make our fire risk extreme.

Sacramento, CA... With temperatures set to exceed 110 degrees throughout much of the state this week, Governor Gavin Newsom is urging Californians to take extra precautions as they celebrate the Fourth of July. The Governor directed the Office of Emergency Services to activate its State Operations Center and move into Phase II of its Extreme Temperature Response Plan. This is triggered by National Weather Service (NWS) predictions of excessive heat activity and moves the state into action to coordinate an all-hands response by state government.

Arnold, CA...The first string days with excessive heat warnings are in our future this week. It is also a nice time to remind people what a great area we live in because we have rapid elevation changes within just few minutes of travel time. Typically you can see a 20 - 25 degree change from the high country to the foothills. So if triple digits make you sweat then dipping your toes in Silver Lake, Lake Alpine or Pinecrest might be just the plan for you.
