Bear Valley Music Festival is July 19th - August 4th! Get Your Tickets Now! Bear Valley, CA...Since 2022, the Bear Valley Music Festival has been Alexander Mickelthwate’s summer music home. Here, he continues to create tailored and innovative programs, expand horizons, and motivate and nurture musicians and concertgoers of all generations. His innovative and creative spirit is fitting for such a one-of-a-kind festival in an area known for exploration and beauty.
When he’s not in Bear Valley, Alexander is the Music Director of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic and Artist-in-Residence with the University of Central Oklahoma. With the OKC Phil, he is building a reputation for creating uniquely tailored programs that attract new audiences.
Under his leadership, the organization has expanded its artistic horizons, increased the number of onstage and city-wide collaborations, commissioned works commemorating significant events and anniversaries, and completed its first-ever recording project with the international Naxos label.
In his new position with the University of Central Oklahoma, he is passionate about working with the next generation of musicians as music director of the University of Central Oklahoma Symphony.
Originally from Germany, Mickelthwate is also Music Director Emeritus of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra in Canada. In his twelve years in Winnipeg, he played a pivotal role in the rejuvenation and turnaround of the Winnipeg Symphony, which culminated in a highly successful and critically acclaimed performance at Carnegie Hall in May 2014. He previously served as Assistant Conductor of the Atlanta Symphony and Associate Conductor of the Los Angeles Philharmonic under the direction of Esa-Pekka Salonen.

The Patrice Pike Band at Brice Station Vineyards Murphys, CA...Patrice Pike burst onto the music scene as the electric front woman for the seminal Austin jam band Sister Seven Patrice effortlessly moves from tightly woven rhythm guitar to percussion, to drum kit on stage never dropping a beat of her fierce but silky lead vocals.
Over the past decade, she has independently released five acclaimed solo records and released an incredible album under the name Pike and Sutton with long-time music partner Wayne Sutton. These have all shown her socially astute, literate lyrics alongside her powerful vocals, percussion, and rhythm guitar skills. She has toured relentlessly, both in the U.S. and overseas, building an impressive grassroots fan base. In 2007 she became the youngest member of the Austin/Texas Music Hall of Fame, inducted alongside Lucinda Williams. She is currently working on new material for a release in 2024 and Brice Station is her favorite annual series for summer touring! This show features phenomenal guitarist Hunter Hendrickson and her California powerhouse rhythm section Mike Anderson and Rob Hooper.
