Mother Lode Bonsai Club’s Workshop On Seasonal Repotting
San Andreas, CA...Mother Lode Bonsai Club will conduct a free workshop for the public on seasonal bonsai repotting, following the club’s Saturday, January 7 meeting at 10:00 a.m. The event will take place at the San Andreas Central Library, 1299 Gold Hunter Road (off Mountain Ranch Road) in San Andreas.

Most plants are dormant at this time of year, making it the ideal period for repotting. During this season, damage to growth and root systems are minimized according to experienced club teachers, or sensei. These instructors will be on hand to give guidance and suggestions. Individuals should bring their bonsai plant, selected pot and any available materials, such as soil, bonsai working tools and wiring. Also, participants should provide a container for holding soil (like a small pan) and plastic covering to protect the work table.

Everyone is invited to attend regardless of their levels of experience. Club members will also be available to provide guests with information on bonsai care. Members come from Amador, Calaveras and Tuolumne counties, as well as the Central Valley. For more information, contact Bob Dean at (209) 754-5887 or go online to www.motherlodebonsai.org.
