CITY COUNCIL appreciates your interest and encourages your participation. Regularly scheduled meeting are held the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month. The Agenda is divided into two sections:
CONSENT AGENDA: These matters include routine financial and administration actions and are usually approved by a single majority vote.
REGULAR AGENDA: These items include significant financial and administration actions of special interest, hearings and work sessions.

It has been months since the clear cutting operation turned the once usable park in downtown AC into a wasteland. Rods Grille closed, amongst other businesses, much of the city looks tarnished, and without care, not to mention the old city hall! What gives with the park project, a normal citizen would be harassed by the city if they left their properties looking like some of the dumps along 49!

They could have left the existing park alone while the work began on the new property. Absolutely no reason to have taken away our biggest city park from the kids, farmers market, etc while work commenced over there. What a sh!t show. Good work, Angels Camp!
Reminds me a bit of when they tore out the public pool at Tryon Park. They could have put in a restroom, all the plumbing was there. Then Farmers market and other events could have been held there. Right along the creek, could have done something similar to Murphys park. But no, just a sandy weed patch.

But yet they still keep funding the Destination Angels Camp tourism mantra. As if. That ship sailed years ago for Murphys and the Upper Rte 4 corridor. Angels is looking not unlike San Andreas and that side of the county, the only bright spot being the museum. What’s become of the vision for a grand hotel as well?

Waking up to choking smoke this morning! What is CDF’s obsession with Big Trees and burning? Most Newbies complain about property owners burning yard debris, how about complaining about this fiasco! CDF was going to start this burn a few days ago, but according to them, the “rain”, remember the “rain”, kept them from doing the burn. They are as about transparent as our federal government at best! We didn’t even get measurable rain, so what is the big deal? These fire people, wanna be, combat veterans, are responsible to no one, when you can get paid $10,000. or more a month, free pick-up, free gas, work your measley shift and feel proud about it,your a loser! No wonder every male student with anything going for them wants that job! Not to mention the sweet pension! Getting back to the park, this might be to simple, but put out the contractors name, what he has accomplished for the money spent, weekly, and use Next Door, FaceTime, whatever and keep the public informed, you seem to forget, it is our park, and our tax money!

If people are going to comment on State Park conditions, they need to know the rules.
Burning is the most viable method to make the Park safe.
Certain things can't be done, like it is on private land. Use of machinery is strictly controlled.
If you live in the Sierras, you need to learn how to put up with smoke.

MACHINERY! That is the entire problem! That age old idea of letting the place die, then refuse to take care of it is archaic! All of SPI’s logging operations require that slash is chipped, they don’t leave it like they used too. When they start rebuilding places like Lahainass a lot of lumber will be needed, the state could log, make money at the same time, so Pompadour could give the $ to some left wing project ! A win, win for everyone

Angels needs to fine owners that let commercial properties fall into disrepair like the family ones that include the former dealership and line a third of the city. As far as others that sit vacant, not sure what can be done when there’s a lack of individuals unwilling to take a chance on leasing and opening new businesses in the city’s current state. You need new business to reinvigorate but who’s going to take that chance?
