Paula Marie Serra 1946 - 2018

San Andreas, CA...Paula Marie Serra, Nov. 28, 1946 - Feb. 6, 2018. Paula Marie Serra age 71 died on February 6, 2018. Paula was born in Boston Massachusetts on November, 28 1946. Her family moved to California where she was raised in San Andreas and attended Calaveras High School. She earned her cosmetology license and opened up a salon in San Andreas in the late 60’s. She married Carlin in 1969 and raised 3 children Eric, Erica (twins) and Nicole. Paula sold the salon to spend time with her children. After the children grew older she worked for Calaveras title company and Calaveras tax collector office. While working full time she went to school at night and completed her Associate of Arts Degree from San Joaquin Delta College. Paula later changed careers and worked for the United States Postal Service where she was Assistant Postmaster in Angels Camp and Arnold, California. She was diagnosed with cancer in 1993 and retired early from the postal service.

Paula and her husband Carlin sold their home in Calaveras county in 2000, at this time they purchased a motorhome and decided to travel. They have traveled and lived in the motorhome for the last 18 years. They have seen all 50 states, traveled internationally, and enjoyed each other's company meeting many friends along the way.

All who knew Paula would say that she was one of the strongest, generous, kindest and funniest persons you will ever meet. She battled many types of health conditions and would push through it mainly because she loved her family and especially her grandchildren. Paula’s spare time was consumed by volunteering. She volunteered her time and whenever she was at home or in a waiting room. She could be seen crocheting hats for cancer patients, blankets for war veterans, and hats for premature babies. She believed in giving and she did this with all of her heart. Paula also had a gift of humor, she could make you laugh out loud until your cheeks hurt and her smile would light up a room. Paula had a deep love for her grandchildren she would do anything for them, she would offer a listening ear to a sad girl, encourage one who wasn’t sure what to do, check on one who was distant or just sit and talk with one for hours about fairies, and she would hold a sleepy baby boy even though he was hot and sweaty. She hugged them loved them and listened to them every moment she was with them. The love she felt for each of her grandchildren runs so deep that it will carry on within them forever.

Paula was preceded in death by her parents Shirley and Joseph Kiley. Paula’s father Joseph Kiely was the district attorney of calaveras county.

She is survived by husband Carlin, brothers Michael, Joseph and sister Bonnie. Three children Eric, Erica, and Nicole, and 6 grandchildren Corey, Grace, Melissa, Savannah, Alana, Drew and one great grandchild.

Please consider volunteering in your community or making a donation to the American Cancer Society in Paula’s name.

A celebration of Life will be held in Truckee, Ca where Carlin and Paula spend their summers with their daughter Nicole and her family. Please contact Nicole if you would like more information coleekris@gmail.com

Sometimes it is what's more a reasonably fine text that him and i unquestionably liked investigating. Not always every day which will have fun with the probability to see a supplement. Peter Thomas Roth
