Major Injuries in Hwy 4 Collision Sends Three to Trauma Centers via Medi-Flights
Murphys, CA...A 61 year old Arnold man was driving his 2013 Ford Escape eastbound on SR-4 east of Sunset Ridge Court at approximately 45-50 miles per hour. A 65 year old Cerritos woman was driving her 2013 Subaru Outback westbound on SR-4 east of Sunset Ridge Court at approximately 45-50 miles per hour. Mr. Burns claims that he fell asleep. In any event, his Ford crossed over the solid double yellow lines into the opposing lane of traffic directly in front of the Subaru. Both vehicles collided left front to left front. The Ford came to rest straddling the east and westbound lanes of SR-4 facing a westerly direction. The Outback came to rest on the north shoulder facing a southerly direction.
All three parties sustained major injuries as a result of this collision and were airlifted to hospitals. Drugs and/or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in this collision.
