Purses & Wallets Stolen In Thefts From Vehicles
Angels Camp, CA...On January 6, 2017 at approximately 11:45 AM an officer from the Angels Camp Police Department was dispatched to a report of a theft from a parked vehicle on Slate Circle. The victim told the officer that her vehicle’s front window was shattered and her wallet was stolen. The victim had left her wallet in plain view on the top of the center console of the vehicle. The victim was advised to cancel all her credit cards and was provided identity theft information. She was instructed to contact the Angels Camp Police Department in the event she noticed any unauthorized bank account activity that could possibly aid in identifying a suspect.
On January 6, 2017 at approximately 7:15 PM an officer took a report of another theft from a parked vehicle in the 100 block of South Main Street. The victim left her purse on the front seat of her unlocked vehicle and went to work. When she returned to her vehicle, her purse was gone. The victim advised that she had cancelled her credit cards; however charges were already made to her accounts. Officers are currently working to identify a suspect.
The Angels Camp Police Department would like to encourage everyone to be vigilant in protecting your vehicle and valuables by offering these crime prevention tips:
• Always lock your doors and roll up your windows when you leave your vehicle.
• Do not leave valuables in your vehicle. If you must leave a valuable in your vehicle, keep it out of sight or hidden in the trunk.
• Equip your vehicle with an alarm or other anti-theft device.
