Ronald Lee Corpening Sr. 1938 - 2016
Avery, CA...Ronald Lee Corpening Sr., better known as "POPS", passed away on January 18, 2016 at Mark Twain hospital. He was 77. Born in Tuolumne County, he was the son of Frank and Beryl Corpening. Ron graduated from Bret Harte High school in 1956. He was employed at Calaveras Cement Co. and California Electric Steel foundry. He moved to Lancaster Ca.in the late 1970's and was employed by Enduro Plumbing as a pipe fitter. In 2005 he moved back to Calaveras County and lived the remainder of his life in Arnold and Avery.
He is survived by his children Ronald Lee Corpening Jr., and Kimberly Lathrop. His grandchildren Sarah, Leeanna and Aleesa Corpening, and Rachelle and Lauren Lathrop. His brothers Jack and Bob Corpening and his sister Beverly Anderson.
He will be remembered for his sweet and fun-loving personality, his hearty laugh and warm smile that he greeted everyone with. He was a lovable, thoughtful man who was loved by many and a lot of fun to be around. He will be dearly missed.
