CUSD's A Christmas to Remember 2015 ~ By Mark Campbell
San Andreas, CA...We are writing to remind you about the annual effort called A Christmas to Remember. This program provides selected Calaveras Unified School District students with certificates/vouchers to purchase new clothing in December. Here is an overview of the process...
* Objective---provide selected students with certificates/vouchers enabling them to purchase clothing
* Process---collect cash/check donations (soliciting businesses in November and community members in December during two designated donation days)---with donation locations in Mokelumne Hill (Hwy 49/26), San Andreas (Wells Fargo), Valley Springs (Mar Val and Senders) and West Point (Post Office) on Wednesday, December 2nd and Thursday, December 3rd...between 7:00 and 5:00 each day. Donation booths are operated by The Lions Club and West Calaveras Rotary.
* Distribution---cash donations are converted to certificates/vouchers which are then given to students to purchase clothing at K-Mart
Last year, 142 students received $100 vouchers/certificates and they are only allowed to purchase clothing with them.
We are respectfully asking if you could assist us in this endeavor by making a donation (cash/check) in whatever amount you are able to. A Christmas to Remember is a non-profit organization and your donation is tax deductible. The money collected goes directly to our kids and the impact is positive and powerful.
