Antioch Man Loses Life In Fatal Hwy 4 Accident

Copperopolis, CA...On September 12th at approximately 5:50pm at tan Nissan Quest driven by a 46 year old Antioch man was traveling northbound on O'Byrnes Ferry Rd. at approximately 30mph. approaching SR-4.. A white Dodge Ram 1500 driven by an Angels Camp man was traveling eastbound on S$-4 at approximately 55 mph. The driver of the northbound Nissan failed to stop at the stop sign and traveled directly into the path of the Dodge. The front of the Dodge collided with the left side of the Nissan and the 46 year old Antioch man was declared deceased at the scene.




Four other passengers in the Nissan were medi-flighted from the scene with minor to major injuries. The driver of the Dodge was not injured.

SR-4 was closed for approximately an hour and twenty minutes to facilitate air evacuations. Alcohol and or drugs are not a factor in this collision. This collision is still under investigation.
