Cigarettes & Car Keys Lead to Stabbing
Sonora, CA...On 4/28/15 about 6:00 A.M. Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Deputies met with the 44 year old female victim at Sonora Regional Medical Center. The victim had lacerations to both her hands, and her abdomen. The victim related to the Deputies that she had been “stabbed” by an acquaintance, 58 year old Bobbi Ann Burkes. The incident occurred at a residence in the 19000 block of Serrano Road.
Burkes and the victim had argued over missing cigarettes and car keys. The verbal Argument escalated to the point where Burkes allegedly cut the victim on the hands and abdomen with a “large hunting knife” .
Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office Detectives were able to locate the Suspect, Bobbi Ann Burkes and take her into custody. Burkes was booked into jail on the above listed charges. As of 8:30 A.M. on 4/29/15 Burkes was still in custody at the Tuolumne County Jail. Bail was set at 50,000 Dollars (fifty thousand).
The victim was treated at SRMC and her injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

245(A)(1) PC Assault with a Deadly Weapon Felony
243(D) PC Battery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury Misdemeanor
