In Loving Memory of Mark Anthony Barr 1960~2015

San Andreas, CA...Mark Anthony Barr died Wednesday, January 21, 2015, in Sacramento, CA at the age of 54. He was born July 30, 1960, in San Andreas and graduated from Calaveras High School in 1978. After high school he attended college at Biola University. He later transferred to U.C. Fullerton where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Mark came back to Calaveras and worked as a Social Worker. Mark eventually moved to Sacramento where he worked as a counselor at a boy’s home for many years.

He is survived by his fiancé and partner of 18 years, Evelyn Mathis; sons Jared Barr and Jeremy Barr; step-children Richard Havery, Jeremy {Meghan} Havery, and Stephanie {Shane} Howard; his parents Howard and Ida Barr; his brother Todd {Jennifer} Barr; niece, Sarah {Jerry} Gray; and nephew Tristan Barr, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and grand kids. Services will be held Saturday, January 31 at 2:00 p.m. at the Community Covenant Church in San Andreas. A reception will be held following the service at the Pickle Patch. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the church.
