TCSA Is Looking For George Michael Lane

Jamestown, CA...On 1/4/15 about 2:30 A.M. a Tuolumne County Sheriff Deputy saw Fifty seven year old, George Michael Lane driving a vehicle a vehicle on J59. Mr. Lane’s vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed. The Deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop and Mr. Lane failed to stop and the Deputy pursued the vehicle at speeds up to 120 miles per hour. At one point Mr. Lanes vehicle left the roadway and came to a stop near Chinese Camp, CA. The Deputy pulled his patrol car in behind Mr. Lane’s vehicle. Mr. Lane rapidly accelerated his vehicle in reverse and his vehicle collided with the front end of the patrol vehicle. The patrol car was damaged but the Deputy was uninjured. Mr. Lane then accelerated forward and the pursuit continued. Speeds once again approached 100 MPH, due to icy road conditions and the extremely unsafe road conditions the Deputy stopped pursuing the suspect’s vehicle...






Mr. Lanes vehicle was located unoccupied in the Pine Mountain Lake Subdivision, Groveland, CA later in the day on 1/4/15.



As of 1/7/15 Mr. Lane has not been located . He is a transient who most recently resided on Park Avenue in Jamestown. Mr. Lane has failed to appear in court related to previous charges involving violation of a domestic violence restraining order, possession of a stolen vehicle and evading a peace officer. He is now being charged with evading a peace officer, assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer and driving on a suspended license.



The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s help in locating George Michael Lane. The public can call the Sheriff’s Office at (209) 533-5815 to provide any information on Mr. Lane’s whereabouts. Please do not contact or try to apprehend Mr. Lane, notify law enforcement if he is seen.

Violation of a Domestic Violence Restraining Order
